How The NYPD Became The Most Expensive Police Force In The US

New York City has the biggest police budget of any city in the United States. In 2020, the New York Police Department spent $6 billion. But the true cost of the police is well above $10 billion a year. Most of that goes to uniformed officers' salaries, pension, and overtime. As police budgets have risen, the extra policing hasn't necessarily led to less crime. Instead, record-high settlements in police misconduct cases, unconstitutional policing policies, and high-profile deaths of Black New Yorkers have called the budget into question. Following the death of George Floyd, New Yorkers took to the streets, calling for a $1 billion cut to the 2021 NYPD budget. But the real cuts amounted to only about $420 million.

  • What started as a detailed notion as to why the NYPD Budget is so big, went very quickly to why defunding needs to happen. Setting aside the video overseeing many particular events like 9/11, Unionization, and professional policing. This video articulates nothing relative to the argument of defunding the police. If anything, it justifies why the police budget is so big, due to the ever increase demand in policing. We can talk about police brutality all day and have a proper footing. But make no mistake, the budget being trimmed wont work.

At the recent lows, the asset traded as low as $10,300 - around 8% ish below the local highs couple of weeks back. Despite this slight slip and the fact that BTC remains above $14,000, we should all remain bullish on Bitcoin. I think bitcoin could soon move higher to $20,000 in a couple of days. As a crypto trader the past few weeks has recorded immerse benefits all round, my only regret now is not knowing Mr taylor on time, his top notch signals remains the bedrock of the successes recorded in my personal trading portfolio. his trading technics helps me get my profit... i already made $100k with his. investing on cryptocurrencies is now the new source of income for everyone he continues to be an inspiration to all who have been fortunate to have made use of his signals. You all can reach out to him through or on WhatsApp +1 409 299 3921

  • Defunding though I understand is rooted in best intentions is not the right strategy. Police need continuous training. Instead of slashing their budget, we should aim for those funds to allow 1 day of an officers week to be skills updating and development. And it isn't easy being a cop. No one calls you with good news. We should allocate funds to emotional support programs that ensure we don't have officers ready to snap, for whatever reason looking for an opportunity to release some rage, consciously or unconsciously. If we slash police funding, our ability to invest in continuous training and support resources that would yield a profound improvement disappears.

But it turns out it's a political campaign to defund the police and push the BLM agenda in a city that the Democrats have failed so much of its people by creating a highly regulated environment that makes life expensive for people to run businesses and create more jobs for the minority that the Dems heavily depend on every four years.

    • The federal system(District of Columbia) gives States bonds from tax dollars, the states can also fund bonds by taxing the state residents. States distribute those bonds to cities. The cities can also fund their bonds by taxing residents. Cities then distribute those bonds to different public organizations around that city such as police department, public schooling, sewage and water, etc...

FYI, anyone wanting to stay in Hotel Pennsylvania in New York, don’t, you’ll find out why if you book a room. I’m sure every hotel there is the same way though...everything there is expensive as Hell, cops trying to make a living there is probs tough as any other emergency services and low income jobs.
