The Rise And Fall of USPS

The United States Postal Service has been around for more than 200 years and is actually older than the United States. However, the organization that always makes it through rain, sleet, and hail may not make it through 2020. A law passed at the end of 2006, combined with the impact of the coronavirus pandemic, has led to most of the post office's current woes. Here's why the post office is $160 billion in debt.

  • Why is it that Mail Carriers delivering packages continually toss them on the porch and refuse to ring the doorbell even when there's a big sign on the door that reads "Deliveries, Please Ring Bell"? UPS and FedX always ring the bell, but mail carriers toss the packages and scram. I'm sure the USPS carriers can read to a certain degree, although I've had mail delivered to my address number, but on a DIFFERENT street, so maybe I'm giving them too much credit. I suggest disbanding USPS and outsourcing the service to UPS and FedX - they seem to actually seem to care about their jobs and, ironically, about the CUSTOMER!

  • Amazing Video. Bitcoin has faced a rather strong resistance after its explosion to the $11,100 highs. At the recent lows, the asset traded as low as $10,300 - around 8% ish below the local highs couple of weeks back. Despite this slight slip and the fact that BTC remains above $14,000, we should all remain bullish on Bitcoin. I think bitcoin could soon move higher to $20,000 in a couple of days. As a crypto trader the past few weeks has recorded immerse benefits all round,,, my only regret now is not knowing Mr taylor on time, his top notch signals remains the bedrock of the successes recorded in my personal trading portfolio. his trading technics helps me get my profit... i already made $100k with his. investing on cryptocurrencies is now the new source of income for everyone he continues to be an inspiration to all who have been fortunate to have made use of his signals....You all can reach out to him through or on WhatsApp +1 409 299 3921

  • The truth of the matter is that the debt that USPS was forced to grapple with starting in 2007 had always been there, they simply weren't acknowledging it. The point of the law was to make sure the workers USPS promised health care to would ACTUALLY RECEIVE IT, because up until 2007 the post office was not putting any money away to cover the costs.

  • This has become a political issue now, so take things with a grain of salt. The USPS has been awful for years. I don't know anyone who willingly used their service, they were always a last resort. In terms of competition, UPS, Fed Ex, and various others - were always superior. This sudden glorification of the USPS is silly,.

Attacking it is an attack of the American people. It’s an attack on people who need it to survive. It’s the only one that delivers meds, paychecks, animals, and bills. #savetheusps

  • Lately I been seeing a lot of news about the upcoming 2020 presidential elections. One of the topics that have stood out the most to me is the mail in bailouts. The fact that I experienced & seen mail in voting fraud with my own eyes in Paterson,NJ with delayed received ballots makes me wonder how the presidential election mail in bailouts will turn out nationwide. I don't want to discredit USPS or its workers and I applaud them for there hard work but from what I am observing locally in a highly populated city USPS cant handle that many ballots to be mailed by Nov. on another hand, The fact that the only feasible way to vote in the U.S is through a mail in ballot is absurd and quiet frankly embarrassing. We are living behind our time and with all the technological resources we have available, Voters should be able to vote online without the risk of elections being hacked. I mean there are spaceships that go up to mars and land back on earth, how hard can it be? with that being said, I will not blame the USPS or the postmaster if the ballots were not mailed in time. I blame our complete government.

  • Do you really want a private company to handle your personal mailings? Private companies have stockholders and CEOs that they have to satisfy. Not you, the public. They have competitors that they will deliver to. How will those competitors feel about that? USPS employees protect your mail because that is their job. None of them care a bit about stock holders.

  • The problem with these kinds of reports is, they never reference the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC). That is one of the strongest and largest bargaining unions in the country. Definitely the strongest union within the USPS. There are some minor but important miss-labeling throughout but important within the bigger picture. As far as the first PMG is concerned, Benjamin Frankland was postmaster in England before becoming the first PMG in the newly formed colony/states. The USPS didn't come into existence until the 70s'. Before then it was the United States Postal Department. There is a big difference. A very big difference when it comes to where the United States Postal Service is today. I am making some big gaps here. I am not remaking this video, but some things that were left out and some things that were not emphasized become very big issues when not reporting what really matters. Emphases should always be put on how the Republican party has systematically dismantled and bankrupted the USPS since Richard Nixon. Reagan also attempted to disrupt the USPS but was not as successful as he would have liked to have been. From that point, the Republican party upped its game. The $72 Billion robbery the Bush 2 era of the USPS was the nail in its coffin. No organization could service such an attack. The Democrats had 8 years after Bush to correct that robbery, but they didn't. Republicans continue to lie about why the USPS is facing bankruptcy. It is not the internet, it is not poor management (although postal management has been stacked with Republican placed managers) to do their bidding. The USPS's current downfall is that $72 Billion benefit coverage for the next 75 years is killing the/your Postal Service. This is my problem with these kinds of reports. Yes, they did mention the Republican bill strapping the USPS towards doom, but it was quick and not made clear the whos and the whys and the result of it. What the Republican party has done to the USPS was never intended by the formers of this country/government. The USPS delivers around 48% of ALL of the World's mail. UPS and FedEx do not come close to the number of daily deliveries and parcel deliveries as the USPS. The Republicans are destroying "your" mail delivery and the Democrats do nothing to correct what they are doing. What you can do about it, is to insist to your public elected officials to revert that benefit responsibility put on the USPS and do their jobs by overseeing the USPS the way they were intended to.

The bill forced the Postal Service to pay for retirees 75 years in advance. This bill caused the Postal Service to go into RED. Come November 3rd, 2020 make sure that you use your legal right to vote. Request, receive, complete, sign, mail or hand deliver your BALLOT so that your constitutional allowed, legally obtained vote is counted. Biden-Harris might not be perfect. However, they are not narcissist that will take away your constitutional right to vote.

Oregon Democrats forced broke workers to wait in line for up to 24 hrs yesterday for measly $500.00 checks only to find out they ran out of money because democrats on Capital Hill went on vacation instead of working with Republicans to pass the second Stimulus. Swamp Democrats would rather help other swamp Democrats bail out failing State & City budgets than the workers who fund those & City budgets.

Yes, the pension fund aspect confuses me, but your not giving the full context of the whole bill and the reasoning Would you say that the USPS is overwhelmed bc of the new postmaster, or bc like the video said: less business and more USPS workers calling out bc of the Covid scare Lastly, the USPS has used less than 20% of the $10 B loan they received earlier this year, but for some reason it is an emergent need to push the $75 B in funding Thanks for info though

Trump and his supporters think that Amazon and other e-commerce retailers should pay more for getting packages delivered and that they (USPS) is losing money because of the aforementioned e-commerce retailers. What they fail to understand is that online retailers like Amazon is USPS's biggest revenue in their quarter fiscal of 2020 in the category of shipping and packages. There is less volume in traditional envelopes because people in general pay for their bills via online or through their phones. No more lost checks or chances of anyone stealing your bank info. USPS were on the cusp of bankruptcy, but Amazon and other online retailers have saved them.

I see the amount to fund stability is growing out of control, but that may be illustrating the rising health?.care costs in advance. I wonder how many years in advance are police 🚔 pensions funded. If it were to profit where is it to go? Profit sharing? New creative 💡. It’s hard to think it through when it’s half business half service to the people. For the time being, we can buy some stamps to celebrate our history with the post office, and hope someone can figure out a longer term solution. BUY Stamps 🤗
