Why Argan Oil Is So Expensive | So Expensive

29 Rgp 2020

Argan oil can cost as much as $300 per liter, making it the world’s most expensive edible oil. Just 20 years ago, however, the production of argan oil was isolated to villagers in Morocco, who sold it locally for as little at $3 per liter. But since then, the formation of women-run cooperatives has transformed the production into a billion-dollar industry. With the help of the cooperatives, the traditional skills held by the Amazigh women has created some financial independence in a male-dominated society However, the women normally make less than $220 a month - below Morocco's recommended national minimum wage. So why has argan oil suddenly gained such popularity? And what makes it so expensive?

  • Argan oil is not that expensive in Morocco. But the fuckin entrepreneurs and businessman buy it for a very cheap price from cooperatives and then sell it for hundreds of dollars. Plus, the same businessmen create their own unit to produce argan oil and help destroy the work of women and make them work for them for very cheap salary (almost 220dollars per month) 😠 So if you come to Morocco, please buy handmade products (argan oil, henne, ghassoul, black soap, floral water, etc) from the small sellers to help them. Help the small sellers because the big companies take their hard work and destroy it And sorry for my bad english 🤭

  • It's too expensive even in Morocco, the original country of this olive. It's only exists in some areas even there, it's hand made and takes alot of efforts to be made .. And don't forget that it's used even in cosmetic products, shampoo and creams apart from being a very nourishing oil.

  • As a consumer if I'm going to pay a huge amount then I would actually prefer it from straight source. It will be beneficial to both me and the producer. But I hope they maintain quality,I've seen some groups of people using bad quality materials to make stuff so they can sell it at high price and also get money from the government and other NGOs because they are apparently HARD WORKING.

But please, keep in mind this practice happens also in all agriculture, from tomatoes to potatoes... so if you can, always buy directly from farmers or cooperatives. Always the last ones on the chain are the ones who profit the most.

I had liquor and had to pay a tax. Out in Mexico its like 4$ and then in the USA its like 8$ so why not buy it? But u can't drink it until you come home so thats where you get pounded in the ass.

  • Amazing Video. Bitcoin has faced a rather strong resistance after its explosion to the $11,100 highs. At the recent lows, the asset traded as low as $10,300 - around 8% ish below the local highs couple of weeks back. Despite this slight slip and the fact that BTC remains above $14,000, we should all remain bullish on Bitcoin. I think bitcoin could soon move higher to $20,000 in a couple of days. As a crypto trader the past few weeks has recorded immerse benefits all round, my only regret now is not knowing Mr taylor on time, his top notch signals remains the bedrock of the successes recorded in my personal trading portfolio. his trading technics helps me get my profit... i already made $100k with his. investing on cryptocurrencies is now the new source of income for everyone he continues to be an inspiration to all who have been fortunate to have made use of his signals. You all can reach out to him through morgantaylor587@gmail.com or on WhatsApp +1 409 299 3921

  • The people saying they need to be paid more have a point, their being paid less than monthly minimum wage, so before you pop off and say “$200 is enough because if they were paid more...” $200 is less than minimum wage, and minimum wage is $310 a month. I think you are being a little racist don't you think? Different cultures oppress women because its part of their culture. You aren't shitting on other cultures are you? What a bigot, am I right?
